The Mid-Autumn Festival (also known as Mooncake Festival), which falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, is one of the most important festivals for the Chinese community around the world.
Wan Qing Mid-Autumn Festival 2017 is an exciting weekend of festive offerings for the young and young at heart, including heritage trails, guided tours, lantern walkabouts, craft workshops, and evening music performances ranging from the traditional to the contemporary. Children will enjoy, in particular, the snowskin mooncake-making workshops, storytelling sessions, paper cutting, lantern-making workshops, games and more.
As with previous years, there will be a lawn installation of giant lanterns, and this year’s setup will feature cellophane lanterns in a variety of familiar shapes and designs – great for phototaking! The lanterns will be lit up nightly for two weeks from 25 September.
