Ice
The cold temperature of ice constricts the affected blood vessels and prevents inflammation. It can also numb the skin, which can somehow lessen your child’s discomfort. It is important, however, not to keep the ice on your baby’s skin for more than five minutes to prevent further damage to the skin.
Green tea or chamomile tea
Green tea and chamomile tea have properties that relieve skin irritation and reduce inflammation. Store bags of green tea or chamomile tea in your fridge so you have them ready any time your kids will be needing them and just apply them directly on the insect bite.
Milk
Milk contains proteins that can reduce inflammation and redness. Simply wet a cotton ball with milk and dab it on the affected area.
Honey
Honey may be the most versatile natural ingredient in your kitchen because of its many uses may it be for cooking, for preparing drinks, for treating sore throats, and insect bites. Honey exhibits anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. Just place a small drop of honey on the insect bite to ease the insect bite.
Vinegar
Vinegar can act as a natural disinfectant and can help reduce the discomfort of burning sensation felt by your babies. Dilute the vinegar in 1:1 ratio with water and apply on the insect bite using a cotton ball.
Basil leaves
